See TracksAndTrails.ca for all my BC hiking trail information. My second post here listed all the hiking products that I carry in my 24 hour backpack for Search and Rescue and personal hiking trips. I will continue to post video demonstrations for each hiking product that I carry in my backpack. I use the same pack for my personal hiking as well and keep light, up to date, and ready to go at all times. One important piece of equipment to have is a stove to boil water quickly. While a small campfire will always work, there may not always be adequate wood to use and most importantly, in BC we often have campfire bans when forest fire dangers are high. A campfire would be illegal and very dangerous when bans are in place. Here is the system I use to have a quick coffee break on BC Hiking Trails or to offer a tea, coffee or soup to a hiker in distress.
